My name is Ade Adeyemo and I am standing for election to the ALDC Management Committee.
I am the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Councillor for Lyndon ward, Solihull.
I am an experienced local and parliamentary campaigner with passion for training and developing candidates, improving their abilities and assisting them to challenge and be elected for public office.
I am also very experienced in the organisation and management of organisations, both professionally and within the Liberal Democrats.
Over the years, my many roles within the Liberal Democrats have included the following:
Councillor for Lyndon ward, Solihull
Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
Parliamentary Candidate for Solihull West and Shirley (2024)
Parliamentary Candidate for Solihull (2017 & 2019)
Parliamentary Candidate for Meriden (2015)
Lib Dem Candidate in the 2019 European Elections (No. 2 on WM list)
Former Chair, Lib Dem Racial Diversity Campaign (RDC)
Former Member, Federal People Development Committee (FPDC)
Management Board - Association of Liberal Democrat Councillors (ALDC)
Former Chair, Solihull and Meriden Local Party
Former Vice Chair (urban), Liberal Democrats West Midlands
If I am elected as a Member of the ALDC Management Board, I will continue to challenge the Board to ensure that the ALDC continues to provide first-class training for Liberal Democrat Councillors and Campaigners. I will also campaign for increased funding from the National Party to ensure that the ALDC is able to continue the good work it does in support of our Councillors and Campaigners. I will also campaign for less duplication by LDHQ of the work that ALDC already does.

About me
I first became involved with the Liberal Democrats as a volunteer, helping to deliver leaflets for Lorely Burt when she was the MP for Solihull. Impressed with the fact that the then newly-elected MP was out delivering leaflets in the rain, I decided that if my local MP was determined to work that hard, she was definitely worth supporting! That was several years ago and I am pleased to count on Baroness Burt as "my mentor and number one supporter".
I feel quite strongly that the people of the UK deserve positive change. They are tired of the status quo where the two main parties and their MPs are not proactive enough in standing up for local people.

In my day job, I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Risk and Resilience Consultant, specialising in building, infrastructure and civil engineering construction. During my professional career, I have been fortunate enough to have been involved in construction and management of major building and civil engineering projects throughout the UK and abroad.
I will always make it my duty to speak up on behalf of ordinary people, particularly young people and less fortunate members of our communities - a 'Local Champion' demanding better for local people.
